People often say it's easier for men because it's socially acceptable to be bald.   Hear from men who have grown up with alopecia, and how living without eyebrows, lashes and body hair affects their self image, especially as little boys.  You'll be surprised to know it's more complicated than we think.

We want to hear your strong and insightful views.

What is "Head On"?

"Head On" is a collection of inspiring stories of people with alopecia areata.  You will find stories of fashion designers, motivational speakers, therapists, teachers, mothers, coaches and athletes, along with those making an immediate difference in the world of alopecia in social networking , support groups, and the media.

Although editing for Volume 1 is complete and we are in the process of printing, it's never too late to send your story in.  Volume II is already in the works.  Please click on "Contact" to get in touch with me.

We all know how it feels to lose that first patch of hair.   "Head On" is meant to be a celebration of alopecia, and provide encouragement to those recently diagnosed and still struggling with their new reflection in the mirror.

"Head on" has an intended publication date of June 2015.
